Contract Negotiations
Your elected Officers meet regularly with CSEA Officials to negotiate district matters on your behalf. The details of these discussions are posted below, as approved.

The negotiations team met with the District yesterday afternoon for over 2 hours. We emphasized our position on several key issues. We will meet again after the District’s team meets with the Board of Education on November 14th. Our next session is scheduled for November 16th at 3 PM in the Administration building.

After more than a year of negotiations with the District and several mediation sessions, the Union and the District have been unable to reach a tentative agreement. The last negotiations session was held on June 7th and a membership meeting was held on June 21st to discuss the current situation. The Union and the District are proceeding to Fact Finding. The major issues outstanding are health insurance contributions and a wage increase.

Due to a lack of progress in contract negotiations, CSEA and the Washingtonville Central School District have jointly filed for impasse.

1. Both sides responded to each other’s proposals.
2. Several counter-proposals were exchanged.
3. Some mutual understanding was achieved. However, no significant agreements were reached.
The next negotiating session will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 4pm.

The negotiating team met with District Representatives on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 4pm.

District – Steve Latino, School District Attorney, Janet Barbour, Kathy Phillips, Paul Nienstadt
1. Ground Rules were agreed to.
2. Exchanged proposals.
3. Each side reviewed the others proposals.
4. Numerous questions and explanations were exchanged.
Session adjourned at 5:45pm.
On May 13, 2010 a copy of the proposals were distributed to the membership.
